Walkthrough & Notes

The purpose of this part of the story seems to be unlocking the various Moria Skirmishes. Aside from defending the dwarves of course. Complete the quests and their skirmishes for the three named dwarves. If you have been relying on Mithril coins to complete the Epic storyline quickly, you may be surprised that you can't use it on this step. You must travel to each location and speak with the questgiver to advance the quest before you can unlock the Skirmishes. Using the Skirmish panel will simply show them as grayed out/unavailable. To find Brogur in the Deep Way, travel to the Rotting Cellar, and look around for a tunnel entrance. Follow it and look for a door that shows a tooltip "The Deep Way." [13.6S, 112.0W] The Way of Smiths connects the Redhorn Lodes and the Silvertine Lodes and its entrance will show on the map when you are at that quest step. Since you finish the previous skirmish between the Silvertine and Waterworks, just continue to the Silvertine, and follow the winding path down into the center of the mine. There are a few doors on the way down, and the first one is "The Way of Smiths." [11.0S, 112.9W] If you don't have a milestone set in the 21st Hall, walk up to the Orc-watch in the Redhorn Lodes. To walk to the Orc-watch the easiest way, turn left going out of the forge area, and when you zone out to the Redhorn Lodes through the door, turn right and stay on the ground, don't take a ramp up. When you see a large double staircase ahead, stop and look to your right; there should be a path there with some smaller stairs going up toward the Orc-watch. You can take a goat from there to the 21st Hall. Finding Wili: If you're watching the entrance of the goat ride into the 21st Hall, you may notice the message "Twenty-first Hall South Arch", very soon after that, dismount the goat. You should see Wili behind a column nearby, or see his quest ring on your radar. [6.2S, 105.9W]

Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue 'It is up to you and your friends now. You must rally my people and coordinate the defence of Moria. We have prepared for war at three key locations: the Way of Smiths, the Deep-way, and the Twenty-first Hall; if these locations fall, we are lost. 'Brogur must fight for the protection of the Deep-way. Tell him I am counting on his strength, and he will stand as long as it takes to fight back the Orc-hordes. Speak with him first. 'The defence of the Way of Smiths is in the hands of Stóthkell. He speaks highly of you, and will do as you command. You should speak with him once the Deep-way is secured. 'Wíli will oversee the barricades at the Twenty-first Hall; he fought bravely as part of the diversionary force during my son's assault on Stazgnâkh, and... I am sorry. Wíli will do fine. This will be the last and most vital bastion you must defend. Our survival is in your hands. Background The time has come for the dwarves to stand against the Orcs of Moria, but Bósi and Brogur have lost hope that they can achieve victory beneath the mountains. Objective 1 Talk to Brogur and defend the Deep-way Brogur is in the Deep-way. The survival of the dwarves in Moria now depends on the ability of you and your allies to defend these locations from attack. You were asked to speak with Brogur first. You have defended the Deep-way from attack Objective 2 Talk to Stóthkell and defend the Way of Smiths Stóthkell is in the Way of Smiths. Now that the Deep-way has been secured, you should lend your aid to Stóthkell. You have defended the Way of Smiths from attack Objective 3 Talk to Wíli and defend the Twenty-first Hall Wíli is in the Twenty-first Hall. With both the Deep-way and the Way of Smiths secured, you should head at once to the Twenty-first Hall and aid Wíli in its defence. You have defended the Twenty-first Hall from attack Objective 4 Talk to Bósi in the Chamber of the Crossroads Bósi is in the Chamber of the Crossroads, at the southern end of Durin's Way, north of the Great Delving. You have helped to fight off the initial assaults of the Orcs on the barricades of the dwarves, and should report of your success to Bósi. Bósi: 'You have left me speechless, <name>! With your help, we live to fight another day! 'But what if the Orcs return, as they surely will? We cannot stand against them forever; they are simply too numerous!'
